We all are familiar with the Facebook, it is a social platform in which user can post comments, share photographs and links to news or other interesting content on the web e.g. play games, chat live and even stream live video. Shared content can be made publicly accessible or it can be shared only among a select group of friends or family or with a single person. More than one billion people are already active on Facebook. Now, Facebook is getting ready to make big push into consumer hardware with plan to launch a new video device.
According to Business Insider report, Facebook hardware division, Building 8 is working on its first device: a modular phone and a video chat smart home product code named ‘Aloha’ that’s set to compete with the Amazon Echo.

The device is still being developed and to be debut in May 2018, although the release day could be changed. The video chat device, apparently code-named #Aloha, will have a large touchscreen,a wide-angle camera, microphones, speakers and will be capable of recognizing faces.
Moreover, apart from project Aloha, ‘Building 8’ is also working on a smart speaker akin to the Amazon Echo, a 360-degree camera and some wearable devices like smart glasses and a sensor equipped necklace.
