Chester Charles Bennington was an American singer and songwriter best known as the frontman for the rock band “Linkin Park”. He was also the lead singer for “Dead by Sunrise” and fronted Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015. Chester Bennington has committed suicide at the age of 41. It was firstly reported by TMZ that Bennington hangd himself at his Palos Verdes residence on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Chester Charles Bennington was born on March 20, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. His father was a police detective while his mother was a nurse. His parents divorced when he was 11 years old. He struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. He was molested by an older male friend when he was 7 years old. Bennington took interest in music at a young age, citing bands Depeche mode and Stone Temple Pilots as his early inspirations, and dreamed of becoming a member of Stone Temple Pilots, which he later achieved. Bennington was married and is survived by six children. Friends and family of singer Chester Bennington are in shock over the apparent suicide. A Los Angeles County coroner confirmed Bennington’s death as an apparent suicide but no additional details were available.
Law enforcement officials say Bennington hanged himself in his bedroom and he was home alone at the time, according to TMZ. He was found dead upstairs by his housekeeper. After news of his shock death emerged, family said that they never suspected that he would kill himself, but Bennington was never the same after the death of his very close friend “Chris Cornel” who killed himself by hanging. Bennington killed himself after few hours of release of new album of Linkin Park ” Talking to Myself”.
His Linkin band mate “Mike Shinoda” tweeted that he was “shocked and heartbroken” at the news while other tributes have arrived from Rihanna, Nikki Sixx, Stormzy, Ohio governor John Kasich and Chance the Rapper.
