Happy 74th birthday to Peter MayhewPeter Mayhew, an English-American actor who is best known for playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars film series.  turns 74 on May 19. He was born in Barnes, London, England. Mayhew was originally cast in A New Hope solely on the basis of his height, but soon proved to be an valuable and talented actor.
